Overview

FinIQ ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the FinIQ platform at finiq.cloud.

By using FinIQ, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Email address (used for account creation and login)
  • Financial documents you upload for analysis
  • Organisation name, sector, and reporting period you enter

Information collected automatically:

  • Basic usage data (pages visited, analysis count)
  • IP address and browser type for security purposes

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the FinIQ analysis service
  • To manage your account and credit balance
  • To process payments via Stripe
  • To improve the quality of the service
  • To communicate with you about your account or the service

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Your Uploaded Documents

Uploaded files are temporarily stored during processing and deleted after analysis completes.

  • Uploaded files are temporarily stored during processing. For text-based PDFs, content is extracted and passed to the Anthropic API for analysis. For image-heavy documents, pages may be rendered to images as part of the extraction process before being passed to Anthropic.
  • Uploaded files are deleted after analysis completes, including on error where cleanup runs
  • File metadata (including file size and a non-reversible checksum) is retained in our database for operational purposes after the file itself is deleted.
  • We use Anthropic's API, which according to Anthropic's policy does not use customer API data for model training
  • Analysis results (the generated report) are stored against your account so you can access them later

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate FinIQ:

Anthropic API

Powers the AI financial analysis. Your document content is sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic's usage policies prohibit training on API data.

Handles payment processing. We do not store your card details — these are handled entirely by Stripe.

5. Data Retention

  • Uploaded documents: temporarily stored during processing, then deleted after analysis completes
  • Analysis results: retained until you delete your account
  • Account data (email, credits): retained while your account is active
  • Payment records: retained as required by applicable law

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and access controls. Authentication uses secure session management with server-backed session records, automatic expiry, and login code verification. Analysis results are accessible only to the account that generated them. However, no system is completely secure and transmission of data is at your own risk.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing

8. Cookies

FinIQ uses minimal cookies — primarily a session cookie for authentication. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
