Overview

FinIQ ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the FinIQ platform at finiq.cloud.

By using FinIQ, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

→Email address (used for account creation and login)
→Financial documents you upload for analysis
→Organisation name, sector, and reporting period you enter

Information collected automatically:

→Basic usage data (pages visited, analysis count)
→IP address and browser type for security purposes

2. How We Use Your Information

→To provide the FinIQ analysis service
→To manage your account and credit balance
→To process payments via Stripe
→To improve the quality of the service
→To communicate with you about your account or the service

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Your Uploaded Documents

We are documenting exactly what FinIQ keeps from an uploaded document, where, and for how long. Until that is published, we make no claim about how long it is kept.

→For text-based PDFs, content is extracted and passed to the Anthropic API for analysis. For image-heavy documents, pages may be rendered to images as part of the extraction process before being passed to Anthropic.
→Analysis results (the generated report) are stored against your account so you can access them later

4. Services That Receive Your Data

FinIQ uses these services to run. Each one receives only what is listed against it:

Anthropic (AI model provider)

The content of the documents you upload: the extracted text, and images of pages that are scanned or image-heavy. It is sent to produce the analysis. How Anthropic handles it is set out in Anthropic's own terms.

Stripe (payments)

When you buy credits: your FinIQ account reference and the pack you chose. You enter your payment details on Stripe's own checkout page; they do not pass through FinIQ.

Resend (sign-in email)

Your email address and your sign-in code, to send you the code.

Sentry (error reporting)

Technical reports when something goes wrong, including the page or request involved and a reference to the analysis. A report can include content from the document being analysed.

DigitalOcean (hosting)

FinIQ runs on a DigitalOcean server, so everything FinIQ stores is held on DigitalOcean's infrastructure, including its backups: your email address, your results, and the content kept from your documents.

5. Data Retention

→We are documenting what FinIQ keeps and for how long. Until that is published, we make no retention claim beyond this one:
→Payment records: retained as required by applicable law

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and access controls. Authentication uses secure session management with server-backed session records, automatic expiry, and login code verification. Analysis results are visible to the account that generated them and to FinIQ administrators. However, no system is completely secure and transmission of data is at your own risk.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

→Access the personal data we hold about you
→Request correction of inaccurate data
→Request deletion of your account and associated data
→Object to or restrict certain processing

8. Cookies

FinIQ uses minimal cookies — primarily a session cookie for authentication. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
